The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.In your role as a Maintenance Engineer, you will resolve plant issues, drive improvements, and share knowledge to strengthen the performance of the team. The Maintenance Engineer works with other individuals and teams to establish and achieve annual spending plans, production commitments to the business, and cost goals.Maintenance Engineer Essential Job Functions: * Serves as Subject Matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations, as well as providing expertise on troubleshooting failures and repairs. * Provides leadership and direction in the day-to-day decision making for the operating area of responsibility while networking with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations. * For equipment that is critical for the process ensures that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc. and if necessary provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data. * Ensures Operating Discipline / Olin Management System requirements are met and initiates changes to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. * Ensures regulatory and responsible care compliance via operating discipline while meeting the increasing demand for chlorine railcar shipping. Understands and applies skills and knowledge to support small projects, as required. Provides technical support to projects. * Shares on-call responsibilities with other plant personal. Helps coordinate area of responsibility during planned shutdown and maintenance activities. * Applies skills and technical knowledge to support and develop job scopes, plans and supports execution during projects, turnarounds, shutdowns and start-ups.Maintenance Engineer Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred * 3+ years of project / manufacturing experience; chlorine manufacturing experience preferred * Work experience with managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids and development of desired solutions for projects preferred * Demonstrated knowledge of API standards such as API510, API517, as well as knowledge of OSHA 1910-199 PSM. * Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred * Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's licenseGrow your career where you are rewarded and valued.Who We AreSince 1892, Olin Corporation has steadily grown to become the industry leader in both chemicals manufacturing and ammunition.
