Responsibilities: • Analyze blueprints, proposals, specifications, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole• Revisit previously submitted proposal and budgets with clients• Collaborate with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors• Furnish accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs• Prepare estimates, written proposals, budgets, costs, and updates for clients and project managers• This person will be a crucial team member with the responsibility for bringing in new work by sourcing bid opportunities and providing winning estimates for construction project proposals• This individual is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings and gathering all necessary information to successfully bid on and win new projects• Solicit and maintain communication with vendors, the production department, and purchasing agent• Contact supply houses to obtain additional supplier quotes and estimates• Perform quantity takeoffs via blueprints as required• Enter data into Excel spreadsheets and OnScreen Plans – identifying all labor and material costs involved in each project• Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline without exception• Review RFPs and ask follow-up questions to ensure a detailed understanding of the scope of work• Develop relevant RFI’s to ensure knowledge of project requirements and to minimize exclusions• Perform a comprehensive “bid day” analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades• Properly turn over bid documents and subcontractor buyout information to Project Management in a timely manner• Review drawings with the Project Management team and highlight areas of concern Qualifications: • 3 years of experience in the construction industry - project estimating or construction management is necessary• Stellar communication, project management, and time-management skills are crucial• Current Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) is desired• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and construction estimating software• Understanding of accounting, data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics is vital• Candidate must have a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills• 2 years of related construction experience, preferably in a commercial landscaping environment• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs• Must have the ability to read landscape construction and irrigation plan blueprints• Construction estimating: 1 year (Required) Compensation: $50,000 - $100,000 yearly About Company: Legacy Outdoor Services is a family-owned and operated outdoor services company specializing in dirt work, landscape, fencing, and outdoor living spaces.
