The Institute for Justice is looking for a highly organized and proactive Recruiting Coordinator to join the Recruiting team. This role is responsible for leading searches for new and replacement hires across the organization. This position presents a rewarding opportunity for someone looking to apply strong organizational skills and recruiting experience, in a non-profit law firm setting. The Recruiting Coordinator will play an essential role in identifying and attracting top talent committed to IJ’s mission of ending widespread abuses of government power and securing the constitutional rights that allow all Americans to pursue their dreams. General recruiting responsibilities include: Managing job searches with the utmost professionalism and appropriate sense of urgency: Working with IJ’s recruiting team (Director of Recruiting and Recruiting Project Coordinator) as well as hiring managers, to create, execute, and track promotion plans for new positions. Posting new positions on the appropriate job boards. Screening resumes. Conducting initial screening interviews. Scheduling subsequent interviews. Gathering feedback from interviewers. Checking references. Working with the Director of Recruiting and CFO on the details of each offer. Partnering with the HR team to ensure that the candidate has a smooth onboarding and orientation experience. Tracking the success rate of each job board. Working with the HR team to ensure compliance with emerging state laws regarding job postings and other key areas of recruiting. Collecting and analyzing data related to recruitment processes. Updating and monitoring the recruiting budget. Assisting with employer branding efforts such as recruiting focused social media posts. Co-managing programs to encourage and incentivize internal referrals, such as “recruiting raffles.” Maintaining documents with best practices for interviews, sample interview questions, etc. Other tasks include: Ensuring the information on the recruiting section of the website is accurate and up-to-date. Maintaining confidentiality and integrity with sensitive information. Partnering with the HR team on candidate onboarding and orientation. Acting as back-up for the Recruiting Project Coordinator. Keeping meticulous records in IJ’s Applicant Tracking System, JazzHR, and shared hiring trackers as well as communicating the status of searches such that the Recruiting Project Coordinator can be a back-up during planned or unexpected absences. Providing day-of support to IJ’s Events Coordinator and Student Programs Coordinator for various events throughout the year. Assisting with other recruiting, HR, and admin team projects as needed. The ideal candidate will have: 1-3 years of full-time professional work experience, at least one in Recruiting or Human Resources and preferably in a law firm or non-profit organization. Please note that applicants on the lower end of this experience range will be considered as a Recruiting Assistant. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. An understanding of the importance of maintaining timely and thoughtful communication throughout the recruitment process with both candidates and internal stakeholders. The ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks with overlapping deadlines. Extraordinary organizational skills (i.e. someone who gets excited about the prospect of organizing online document files and updating spreadsheets). A proactive nature and forward-thinking mindset. Strong customer service skills, particularly in understanding how every candidate interaction reflects on the organization as a whole. Mastery of Microsoft Office programs and, ideally, experience running mail merges. Experience using an Applicant Tracking System, ideally JazzHR. A team player mentality willing to take on other tasks and projects as needed. A bachelor’s degree. The ability to work in Arlington, VA, in person, at least 3 days a week.
