Location: Chicago, IL Salary: $68,000-$72,000 Job Type: Full-time, hybrid Ragan is looking to add a self-motivated Staff Accountant to our team. The ideal candidate would be someone who is looking to grow in their career and learn at Ragan. Day to day duties will include month end close, cash application, AR and AP tasks, payroll, and ad hoc projects. This position will directly report to the Accounting Manager. This role would be primarily remote, working in our Chicago office on Wednesdays. What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Responsibilities): Work with the Accounting Manager to complete the month end close. Assist in our paperless AP system Certify and with payments in bill.com. Manage vendor portals and invoicing in third party systems. Post the semi-monthly payroll and associated tasks. Review AP transactions for accuracy and correct/inquire where necessary. Work with management to report on our external audit. Review our processes and help automate where possible. Help as needed with our transition to a new ERP as well as other various integrations we are working on at Ragan. Other tasks as assigned. What We Expect of You: 1-3 years of accounting experience. Demonstrated experience reconciling bank accounts. Knowledge of US GAAP. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook. A desire to take on and learn new things. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize projects, and superior attention to detail. A proven ability to adapt to and learn new systems. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
